Data Center

Si3 Data Center Outsourcing Services provides the flexibility needed to expand your information processing capabilities on a seasonal or on-going basis, adopt new technologies, migrate key applications to new platforms and quickly develop, test and deploy new applications.

With two state-of-the-art Data Center facilities in Pakistan, all activities and responsibilities related to Information Technology Operations, Management and Maintenance can be undertaken by Si3 at the primary site in Karachi while the customer can focus on the core business. The secondary site in Islamabad can be utilized for Disaster Recovery, and / or vice versa.

Si3’s State-of-the-art Data Centers in Karachi and Islamabad

Si3 has two state-of-the-art Data Centers; In Karachi, the Data Center is 250 Sq ft with a placement capacity of approximately 12- 15 racks. In Islamabad Si3 has a 700 Sq ft Data center with the current capacity of approximately 30-35 racks. Periodical maintenance and performance check is a careful activity in operation for these Data Center sites in Si3.

Environmental control and safety practices are written and made clearly visible in the IT facility. Fire, dust, excessive heat and humidity are controlled through smoke detectors, fire extinguishers, windowless encasement and air-conditioning. Constant cleanliness ensures sanitization and pest control.

Data Center operation team is fully equipped with technical knowledge and experience for same. 24 hours physical, applications, systems, machines and general operation monitoring is their responsibility.

To keep the operation running smoothly, the Data Center are facilitated with Backup Generators and Uninterrupted Power Supply in case of disruption of regular electricity supply. UPS & stabilizer supply the required backup and fluctuation control.  Installations of 3-Phase Powerware UPS in both the data center supply uninterrupted power to the equipment installed in the data center, with a backup time of 45 minutes.

The respective distribution boxes installed in the data centers have three separate groups of circuit breakers, each having one phase from the UPS. 100 KVA generators are installed and used when regular power supply is off; these generators provide electricity to the entire office space. Automatic Transmission Systems are installed for automatic changeover to the generators’ electricity supply; thereby replacing the need for manual operation of the generators.

Physical security is the highest priority at both the Data Centers: Only authorized personal are allowed to go in for any activity which is properly logged for record. Besides logging all activities to protect the unauthorized interruption, change management is also enforced for any addition or removal of equipment.
